Description: Thirty-five Calendar years ago, American Steve Strauss, came to Singapore to help a friend run Storrap Pte Ltd, an import export and bird breeding business. Storrap is Parrots spelt backwards. It was a short term arrangement but he ended up staying 24 years. During that time he enjoyed Singaporean food but missed Western food very much and would eat out at western style restaurants quite often. However, there were some treats that were just not available back then like the American Style Carrot Cake and although Apple Pie was available it was just not made the American way. He constantly told himself he would one day personally make the cakes and pies that he so craved the way they should be done. Three Calendar years ago, after spending 11 years back in the States, breeding parrots and other exotic pets, he returned to restart the old import, export and bird breeding business. While waiting for approval from the authorities, he played around at home with dough and cake mixes and ended up with his ideal version of carrot cake, apple pie and apple crumble. His cakes and pies are handmade with love in small batches the traditional way, with health and nutrition in mind.
