Campaign Background
1Malaysia 1Halal Background

The first edition (2010/1431H) of 1Malaysia 1Halal Campaign (1M1H) was a big hit. With over 200 industry player participation and with more than 200,000 visitor traffic over a spread of five (5) venues nationwide, it has indeed turned out to be a phenomenon.

This program was initially organized by Islamic Development Department Malaysia (JAKIM) to eliminate much confusion that has risen amongst the public for the usage of a non-recognized halal logo and certification by food manufacturers and producers. In Malaysia, the Malaysian Halal Certification for food and consumable good is being issued by the sole authority JAKIM or State Islamic Religious Council (JAIS). JAKIM’s Halal logo is now among the most widely recognized and respected symbols of Halal compliance in the world.

1M1H has also provides strong platform for entrepreneurs to market and promote their Malaysian Halal certified goods and services. The first 1M1H historically took place in Masjid Negara, Kuala Lumpur from 26 till 28 February 2010 and it was duly solemnized by HRH Deputy Yang Di Pertuan Agong. It was subsequently held in early of June in Dewan 2020 Kangar, Perlis and this was followed by Danga Bay, Johor Bahru, Johor in the month of August. The final installment of the campaign took place in the land of Seremban, Negeri Sembilan (Kompleks Belia & Sukan Paroi) from 15 to 17 October 2010.

With solid support given by JAKIM and the State Government together with its agencies; and the extensive demand from the entrepreneurs and consumers at large, 1M1H has indeed secured its place as the annual program.

The second edition of 1M1H for the year 2011/1432H will drop its anchor in other selected states in Malaysia and will definitely see more interesting participants from the Halal industry and a variety of programs / activities in place.
