English Synopsis
A story about teenager Elly who had just finished school and faced with a choice of whether to pursue his ambitions as a musician or to follow the will of his family and continue further studiesabroad. Elly’s skills as a musician proficient in singing and instrumental skills are complemented by his abilities to record and mix his songs on computer softwares.Elly often does his recording in his room and then sold on the streets while he busked. To Elly's parents, music is not an important aspect of Elly’s life. His education matters more.With youthful fervour, Elly pursues his ambitions to become a famous musician and roam the streets, busking as he goes along on the journey to success while peddling his own independent recordings. His parentswere never supportive despite his wholeheartedefforts and insistenton Elly continuinghis studies at the university. In time, Ellyis approached by the producer of Rip-off Music. Hoping to secure a recording deal, he signed away the rights to his songs to the producer. His parents warned against trusting people too easily and giving up the copyright to his work. In anger, Elly refused their advice and regarded their concerns as a ploy to discourage him from fulfilling his dreams. He locked himself in his room for days, waiting for a call from the producer and hoping to prove his parents wrong in this matter.Ellyis shocked when the producer went missing. He soon discovered his songs were massive hits, circulating on Youtube but in a recording from another artist. Despairing of his hopes,Elly finally gave-in and agreed to his parents wish to study overseas. Dejected, he roamed the streets where he once busked, remembering and reliving his dreams that never were to be. There, he met a funny Indian man who delighted Elly with his skills at singing and guitar-playing.They fast became friends, often busking together and shared many views and conversations about society and the world they lived in. As their friendship grew, Elly’s application to a London university was approved. Meanwhile, Skop Productions offered a recording contract to Elly and his group, Murrally and Tan. Elly turned down the offer to record as he had promised his parents he will continue his studies. On the way to the airport, their songs are heard being played. Murrally reminded Elly of their destinies and to celebrate their friendship upon a chance meeting while Elly’s proud parents looked on.
