OPHL Holdings (M) Sdn Bhd (653795-A) is a One-Stop Centre for laboratory testing, training and consultation services that was incorporated in May 2004. OPHL started off with veterinary diagnostic services to assist with poultry, ruminant and aquaculture farms in disease monitoring, feed quality and water analysis as well as vaccination programs to improve the health status of animals. OPHL has since embarked on state-of-art testing facilities with a team of experts, fully aware of the challenges faced by agricultural and food manufacturing industries.
As a company that focuses on food quality and Halal labelling, we are in a position to offer service and support to any establishment to become a one-stop centre testing facilities on raw ingredients to finished food, food ingredients, beverages, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics and non-food products. Our service and support shall also include pursuing recognition by way of obtaining ISO/IEC 17025 Standard Certification on Laboratory Analysis.
Such standards and certification qualify an entity to become Halal Certifying Body which can be recognized by other International Halal Certifying Bodies worldwide. In this context, the Malaysian Halal Certifying Body in Malaysia which is under the purview of Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (JAKIM) has been recognized as one of the established Halal Certifying bodies in the world. JAKIM can serve as a bench marker for the Gulf States as well as other Middle East countries in upholding the Halal Standards and bringing such standards to a higher level via latest, advanced and innovative halal testing techniques for the benefit of Muslim Ummah specifically and for the people around the world.
To strengthen our capability as a complete diagnostic and analytical company, OPHL has managed to secure licenses to produce various cutting-edge technologies from Malaysian Agriculture Research and Development Centre (MARDI) that will help increase the reliability and efficiency of agro-based testing. In this regard, the company will continue to source both local and international technologies that can contribute greatly to the agro-based and halal industries.
The first Bio-sensor Kit being commercialized by OPHL is the Organophosphate & Carbamate Rapid Test Kit (OP-CB Kit) and Salmonella MicroTEZ. Both products are innovation of MARDI. Three products which are still in the pre-commercialisation stage are Formalin and Histamine biosensor for fish and marine products and Gelatin Extraction Kit for food ingredients. These kits are invented by UPM Researchers.
