History
Kechara Oasis is inspired by H.E. Tsem Tulku Rinpoche who wishes to encourage vegetarianism and making vegetarian diet delicious, appealing and readily available to people. Promoting vegetarianism is promoting non-violence through respecting the lives of all living beings thus creating the causes for a larger vision of promoting world peace, beginning in the community of Petaling Jaya, extending to the nation of Malaysia and across the globe. Besides encouraging people to eat with compassion, it is also encouraging people to eat healthily. H.E. Tsem Tulku Rinpoche who is a promoter of inter-religious and inter-center harmony has also a greater purpose for Kechara Oasis – it provides a beautiful place where people of different faiths and centers can gather together and eat heartily without restrictions and be merry!

Nestled in the busy uptown and hub of Petaling Jaya, Kechara Oasis Restaurant is a new age vegetarian restaurant that believes in spreading the goodness of natural resources which are cooked in a contemporary, fine dining style that leaves lingering tastes. It features a wide range of distinctive dishes and cuisines that caters to people of all walks of life. Its signature dishes are created with a balance of colors, flavor and a contrast of textures inspired by Chinese, Tibetan, Nepali, Vietnamese and Western cuisines. The presentation is simple yet stylish.

Kechara Oasis serves natural, delicious and healthy cuisines sourced from the finest seasonal produce as well as fresh and high quality ingredients. Its mantra is to serve food that befits a healthy lifestyle and encourages its diners to eat with compassion, hence the theme “Make a healthier choice and be friends of planet Earth”.

Set up amidst a relaxing ambience with Tibetan touches, Kechara Oasis’ main dining room can comfortably accommodate up to 210 guests for dinner and lunch banquets. For special occasions, it features 3 VIP private rooms that can accommodate up to 120 guests in a more intimate setting. Kechara Oasis’ service team has over 12 years of experience hosting wedding receptions, special celebrations, non-profit events and business meetings. It has its very own event co-coordinators who will work with its clients to craft and design a truly wonderful and memorable event.
